Main Menu -  The Folder Tab

The Folder Tab allows you easy access and manipulation of other databases in the current folder. It is important to realize that this is a two step process. First select the database in the list box and then choose an action link to the right hand side. These actions will be discussed now.

Figure 1 - The Favorites Tab.

Make Current - This changes the database that you are currently working on in the Workbench to the one selected in the Folder list box. If you look at Figure 1, selecting Make Current would change the database from gBase-FX.mdb to MtJulia-fx.mdb

Open - This opens the database that you selected in the Folder list box. If you look at Figure 1, selecting Open would open  MtJulia-fx.mdb using Microsoft Access. Note that the Workbench continues to stay focused on the current database (in Figure 1 gBase-FX.mdb).

Select in New Window - This starts a new version of the Workbench using the database that you selected in the Folder list box. If you look at Figure 1, this would start a new version of the Workbench with MtJulia-fx.mdb as the selected database. Note that the the current Workbench window continues to stay focused on the current database (in Figure 1 gBase-FX.mdb). If you select the Compact or Backup check boxes directly under the Select in New Window option, this will perform either of these options as soon as everyone logs off the database chosen in the Folder List box.

Folder filter allows you to limit what you see in the folder list box. i.e. if you type db*.mdb, you will see all the databases starting with the filename of DB.
