Next Tip    The Frontpage 98 Search Engine Etc

If you are not using Frontpage but want to add a search engine to your site, try the services of WhatUSeek.com.  They provide a search tool that only looks at your site.  The whole thing took about a 1 hour to setup and includes an internet metasearch engine that is searches all the search engines. Plus you can make the output look like your site.

ZD JOURNAL TIP: FIXING YOUR TEXT INDICES
As you work on a Web, FrontPage automatically indexes all the text on your pages. This index is used by the search bot when you add a search form to your Web. Occasionally, however, the text index can become outdated, and the search form will return bad results. (For example, it might list a page in the search results that no longer exists.) To update the index, just choose Recalculate Hyperlinks from the Tools menu in FrontPage Explorer. If you need more help, try the procedure outlined in this Knowledge Base article: http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q170/9/75.asp

What The Frontpage Engine Will Find

ASP, HTM, HTML files

What Frontpage Wont Find

*.doc, *.pdf  ie files without an internet extension

Hot Tip  You can download the first version of Active Web Developer from Pinnacle Publishing for free in PDF format by clicking on "sample issue".   Lots of heavy ASP reading but a couple of the articles are about Access in ASP.    download.gif (151 bytes)   http://www.pinpub.com/awd/home.htm
