Internet Explorer 7 RSS Feeds

By the time many of the readers open this newsletter, you will have upgraded to Internet Explorer 7. If you have, you will probably have come to the conclusion that the new semi transparent look is nice and multi-tabs are an interesting new feature. For me the improvements are not life changing and somethings like closing individual tabs and menu locations are confusing. But there is one really good thing, RSS feeds like the one used by this magazine are easy to read, easy and anonymous to sign up for and easy to find again in the IE7 interface.

To see the RSS feed that this newsletter is based on, copy the following line into the address bar of IE7.

We are adding new items to the RSS feed every day so rather than waiting for the newsletter every month or so, get into our RSS feed.

AUSSIE CONTRACT WORK

I am looking to talk to very competent Access developers (2 years+ experience) to help us with our projects in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne. If you have your own company, even better. I am interested in people who can walk into a client's office, talk specifications, build good data models, sort out messy Access applications and keep the users happy. This is not full time work and may only amount to a single project or two a year. If this is you, contact me by email using the address at the top of this page

MS's Access 2007 Blog - Read a bit about Sharepoint and Access 2007.

All the latest discussions of what you will find in Access 2007. This post refers to SharePoint designer in Access 2007. Of particular interest is all the comments..

Editorial comment by Garry "Please note that by design, Access 2007 is aimed at a lower end audience. As a consequence, power programmers are not going to be happy with progress in 2007 as very little was aimed at that end of the market. Anyway it matters little to me because Access will still be a good tool for solving business problems for small to medium teams of users."

Repair Damaged Access Databases

vb123.com now offers an online repair system for Access databases. Included in the latest version is the option to only repair tables rather than fix the whole database. This reduces the cost of exercise. The system is setup so that your data is encrypted and in most cases, you should be able to recover a corrupt database in less than 30 minutes elapsed time.
